1656 - Academy Minicraft 1/48 Vought F4U-4 Corsair - WWWEB10112447

Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn

The F4U-4 was the final wartime Corsair, pairing an uprated R-2800-18W engine with a four-blade propeller to become the fastest and most capable version of Vought's gull-winged fighter when it reached the fleet in late 1944. It went on to carry much of the US Navy and Marine Corps close air support load in Korea, where VMF-323 "Death Rattlers" flew it from escort carriers with their rattlesnake cowling art. Academy's 1987 tooling was released in North America under the Academy/Minicraft banner as kit 1656.
