Chance-Vought SB2U-3 Vindicator - Battle of Midway 80th Anniversary
The Vought SB2U-3 “Vindicator” was one of the U.S. Navy’s early monoplane dive bombers, serving aboard aircraft carriers in the late 1930s and early Pacific War period. By the time of the Battle of Midway, the SB2U-3 was already considered obsolete compared to newer aircraft, yet it still played a role in carrier operations during one of the most decisive battles in naval history. This special edition from Academy commemorates the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway, featuring historically inspired markings and accurate detailing of this classic dive bomber in 1/48 scale.
