Vallejo Model Air — IJN Dark Black Green

Late-war IJN darker green variant (approx. FS 34077 / FS 34079 range, often heavily weathered) — deeper tone used by Nakajima-built aircraft and late production runs, approx. 1943–1945. Applied to: Nakajima-built A6M5 variants; Nakajima B6N2 Jill; Nakajima C6N1 Saiun; some late D4Y3/D4Y4 Judy; Ki-84 Hayate (navalized or cross-production influence); late-war trainer conversions. Seen in Philippines (1944), Iwo Jima (1945), Okinawa (1945), and homeland defense intercept missions against B-29 raids (1944–45).

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
