Description
TAM60322 - Tamiya 1/32 North American P-51D Mustang - PREOWNED10118235
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The P-51D is widely considered the definitive variant of the Mustang and among the finest fighter aircraft of the Second World War. Powered by the Packard-built Rolls-Royce Merlin V-1650, with a laminar flow wing and efficient belly radiator, it combined exceptional range with performance that matched the best German fighters at altitude. From late 1943 it escorted 8th Air Force bombers deep into Germany, and its impact on the air war over Europe was decisive. Göring famously remarked that when he saw Mustangs over Berlin, he knew the war was lost.
Developed from actual design drawings and direct examination of surviving examples. Completed model: 308mm length, 354mm wingspan.
