TAM31804 - Tamiya 1/700 U.S. Navy CA-35 Indianapolis - WWWEB10109387
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Commissioned in 1932, USS Indianapolis served as flagship of the Fifth Fleet under Admiral Spruance and participated in the major Central Pacific campaigns of WWII. In July 1945 she delivered components of the first atomic bomb to Tinian Island — her final mission before being torpedoed by Japanese submarine I-58 on July 30, 1945. Of 1,197 crew, approximately 900 survived the sinking but only 316 were rescued after nearly five days in shark-infested waters, making it the worst naval disaster in US history. This kit reproduces her July 1945 configuration.
