The Lancia D50 was one of the boldest Grand Prix designs of the 1950s, with its V8 acting as a stressed chassis member and its fuel carried in pannier tanks slung between the wheels rather than behind the driver. Lancia withdrew from racing in 1955 and handed the whole programme to Ferrari, who reworked the cars over the following season into what became the Lancia-Ferrari D50. Juan Manuel Fangio took the 1956 World Championship in one, his fourth title, which makes this a car with two makers' fingerprints on it and a place in Ferrari's first decade of Grand Prix racing. Revival built their kits in Minerbio near Bologna, and this 1/20 metal kit is aimed at experienced modellers rather than casual builders.
