Description
PITSW-1600 - Pit-Road 1/700 US Navy Destroyer Escort DE-339 John C. Butler Class - WWHP111786
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
This kit replicates the John C. Butler class destroyer escort, the most numerous DE class built by the US Navy in the Second World War. Ships of this class served as convoy escorts and anti-submarine and anti-aircraft pickets across the Pacific, and several gained fame in the desperate destroyer-escort action against the Japanese main fleet at the Battle off Samar in October 1944. This Skywave boxing builds two complete waterline vessels to 1/700 scale, with parts and markings for multiple ships of the class.
Box contents:
- Waterline hulls and decks for two vessels
- Superstructure, 5-inch gun mounts, and anti-aircraft armament (40mm and 20mm)
- Torpedo tubes, Hedgehog, depth charge tracks and K-gun projectors
- SA and SL radar detail parts
- Waterslide decal sheet and color/camouflage guide (Measure 32/22d and Measure 12 schemes)
- Assembly instructions
- Paints and glue sold separately
