HAS51336 - Hasegawa 1/72 Kyushu J7W1 18-shi Intercepter Shinden - WWWEB10113767
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Kyushu J7W1 Shinden ("Magnificent Lightning") was one of the most unconventional aircraft to emerge from World War II. Developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy as a high-performance land-based interceptor to counter B-29 raids on the home islands, the J7W1 used a canard configuration with the main wings mounted at the tail and small foreplane surfaces at the nose, driven by a rear-mounted Mitsubishi Ha-43 radial engine in pusher configuration. Of two prototypes completed, only the first flew — making just three flights in August 1945 before Japan's surrender ended the programme. No production aircraft were ever built.
