Description
FRG156P - Frog 1/72 Fokker D21 Fighter - WWHP111621
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Fokker D.XXI was a Dutch single-seat monoplane fighter designed by Fokker in 1935 and entering service with the Dutch Luchtvaartafdeling (LVA) in 1938. Though outclassed by the latest German fighters by 1940, it was available in meaningful numbers when Germany invaded the Netherlands on 10 May 1940, and Dutch D.XXI pilots fought with considerable tenacity during the five-day campaign — accounting for a significant number of Luftwaffe aircraft before being overwhelmed by superior numbers. Finland also licence-built the type, operating it through the Winter War and Continuation War. This is one of Frog's earliest 1/72 scale kits, produced by International Model Aircraft Ltd (the original Frog company) before the Rovex era.
