The Li'l Red Express was Dodge's answer to the late-1970s muscle truck market — a factory hot rod built on the D-150 Adventurer stepside platform. Powered by a 360 cu. in. V8 rated at 225 hp, it used a free-flowing exhaust system that bypassed the catalytic converter, making it briefly one of the fastest production vehicles sold in the United States. Its bright red paint, chrome exhaust stacks, oak-slatted bed rails, and "Li'l Red Express Truck" graphics made it one of the most recognizable trucks of the era. AMT originally tooled this kit in the 1970s; kit #6459 is a 1994 reissue.
