The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was the first U.S. aircraft designed from the outset as a dedicated radar-equipped night fighter. Its large twin-boom, twin-engine layout carried an onboard interception radar in the nose, and the type entered combat in 1944, serving in both the Pacific and European theatres through the end of the war. Its all-black night finish gave the aircraft its name.

This is the original 1967 Airfix tooling in its first "AIRFIX-72" Series 4 boxing, with Roy Cross box art.
