Hawker Siddeley's HS.1182 Hawk first flew in August 1974 with prototype XX154 and entered RAF service two years later, replacing the Gnat and Hunter T7 as the service's advanced trainer. It proved far more than a trainer, taking on weapons and tactical roles, equipping the Red Arrows from 1979 and going on to serve as the basis of the US Navy T-45 Goshawk. This is Airfix's vintage Series 3 boxing of its 1/72 Hawk, made in England, with box art depicting XX154 in the original red and white scheme and alternative markings supplied for a camouflaged strike and trainer aircraft.
