The Vought F-8 Crusader was a supersonic carrier-based fighter, and the F-8E was the final single-seat production variant built for the US Navy and Marine Corps. It carried AN/APQ-94 radar in an enlarged radome and added underwing pylons for air-to-ground ordnance. Marine Corps Crusaders flew primarily ground-attack missions during the Vietnam War, hauling bombs, Zuni rockets, and Sidewinders.
