Description
ACA13404 - Academy 1/72 German Cargo Truck Early & Late - WWHP113171
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Opel Blitz was the standard three tonne cargo truck of the German Army, chosen after a 1930s competition for a new Wehrmacht vehicle. Nearly 140,000 were built between 1937 and 1944, with Mercedes-Benz producing them under licence from about 1942. Late in the war, steel shortages led to the pressed steel cab being replaced by the Einheitsfahrerhaus, a simplified standardised cab built largely from wood.
Box contents:
- Injection moulded plastic sprues for one truck, moulded in dark yellow
- Clear parts for the glazing
- Optional early pressed steel cab or late wooden cab
- Detailed engine and chassis
- Waterslide decal sheet for two vehicles
- Assembly and painting instructions
Marking options:
- WL 335 521, North Africa, dark yellow
- WL 276 252, European campaign, dark yellow and brown
