Vallejo Metal Colour — Aluminium

Standard aluminium NMF finish. Suitable for P-51D Mustang (unpainted ETO), P-47D (NMF 56th FG), B-29 Superfortress (509th CG, “Enola Gay”), Douglas DC-3, and any polished aluminium aircraft. Also automotive wheel rims and bodywork.

Dark Aluminum — Shadow panels
Chrome — Polished spinner and prop tips
Jet Exhaust — Exhaust nozzle staining
Pale Burnt Metal — Forward heat discolouration
Interior Green — Cockpit interior

Weathering & modulation: Use VLJ77703 for shadow panels, VLJ77707 for standard panels, VLJ77710 for most polished surfaces.

Scale colour note: No scale lightening needed — metallics self-compensate. Pre-shade panel lines before application.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
