Vallejo Game Color — Scarlet Red

Nearest Citadel equivalent: Mephiston Red

Blood Angels, Khorne Berzerkers, and World Eaters base coat. The standard GW red army colour.

Complete this scheme with:

Gory Red — Shadow red — deepest recesses
Scar Red — Mid highlight
Bloody Red — Bright red final edge highlight
Polished Gold — Chapter insignia
Chaos Black — Undercoat

Weathering & modulation: Basecoat recesses with Gory Red. Apply Scarlet Red as main armour. Edge highlight with Scar Red, extreme edges Bloody Red.

Scale colour note: Keep highlight transitions gradual — red is the hardest colour to highlight convincingly.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
