Vallejo Model Air — USAF Tan

Subject: Aircraft

USAF Tan (approx. FS 30219 — same as SEA Tan) — key component of Southeast Asia camouflage, approx. 1960s–1980s. Applied to: F-4 Phantom II (C/D/E), F-105 Thunderchief, F-111A Aardvark (early camo), A-7D Corsair II, A-1 Skyraider, B-52D Stratofortress, AC-130 gunship, OV-10 Bronco, C-130 Hercules. Used extensively in Vietnam War (1965–1975) and retained in USAF tactical units into the late 1970s–early 1980s.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
