Vallejo Model Air — IAF Sand

Subject: Aircraft

Israeli Air Force sand tone (approx. FS 33531 / FS 33448 range) — used in classic 3-tone desert camouflage, approx. 1967–early 1980s. Applied to: Dassault Mirage IIICJ, Nesher, IAI Kfir C1/C2, A-4H/N Skyhawk, F-4E Kurnass, Super Mystère B.2, Mystère IV; helicopters: UH-1D Huey (IAF), early AH-1 Cobra (Tzefa). Used in Six-Day War (1967), War of Attrition (1967–1970), Yom Kippur War (1973), Lebanon conflicts (late 1970s–early 1980s).

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
