Vallejo Model Air — IJN Deep Dark Green

Rich IJN upper-surface green (close to D1 but slightly deeper; approx. FS 34052 / FS 34058 range) — factory-applied finish replacing field-applied greens in late war, approx. 1943–1945. Applied to: Mitsubishi A6M5/5a/5b/5c; Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden-Kai; Yokosuka D4Y3/D4Y4 Judy; Mitsubishi J2M3/J2M5 Raiden; Aichi B7A2 Ryusei (Grace); Yokosuka P1Y1/P1Y2 Ginga; Kawanishi H6K (late service repaint); Kawanishi H8K2 (late variants). Used in defense of Formosa (1944), Philippines (1944–45), Okinawa (1945), and final defense of the Japanese Home Islands.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
