Vallejo Model Air — US Field Drab

Subject: Armour

US Field Drab (approx. FS 30118 / FS 30051 range; darker than Earth Brown) — standard US equipment and webbing color with crossover into vehicle camouflage, approx. 1941–present. Applied to: M1 Garand equipment sets, artillery pieces (M2 howitzer, M1 155mm ‘Long Tom’), M3 Halftrack, M4 Sherman (equipment and partial camo), M8 Greyhound; later vehicles including M151 MUTT, M35 ‘Deuce and a Half’, M54 truck, M113 APC. Used in all WWII theaters (1941–45), Korean War (1950–53), Vietnam War (1965–75), and continued use in equipment coloration.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
