RAF Azure Blue (approx. FS 35231) — underside color for Desert Air Force aircraft, approx. 1941–1943. Applied to: Hawker Hurricane Mk.I/II (Desert variants), Curtiss Tomahawk Mk.II, Kittyhawk Mk.I/II/III (P-40 variants), Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb/Vc (tropical), Bristol Beaufighter (desert operations), Martin Baltimore, Douglas Boston (RAF desert service), Vickers Wellington (North Africa variants). Used extensively in North African Campaign (1941–1943), including El Alamein (1942), and Mediterranean operations.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
