Vallejo Model Air — Sand Brown

German/North African sand brown — DAK (Deutsches Afrikakorps) vehicle colour 1941–1943. Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf.J (15th Panzer Division, Libya), Marder III (1942 production), Sdkfz.250/3 halftracks (DAK HQ). Also suitable for late-war Luftwaffe RLM 79 Sandgelb on Bf 109E-4/Trop, Bf 110C/D-3 (JG 27, North Africa).

Sand Yellow — Sandgelb RAL 8000 factory variant

Weathering & modulation: Dry-brush VLJ70850 Pale Sand heavily over all surfaces. Sand overspray wore through on high-contact areas — reveal Panzergrau underneath.

Scale colour note: At 1:72 lighten 10% with VLJ70850.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
