Description
AKIRC978 - AK Interactive Real Colors AMT-12 Dark Grey 17 ml.
A very dark, near-black grey tone — AMT-12 Dark Grey, the darker of the two upper surface camouflage colours in the Soviet late-war fighter scheme and also one of the upper surface colours in the late-war non-fighter scheme, used across all Soviet mixed-construction military aircraft from summer 1943 through to approximately 1947–48. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC978 is included in AK's Soviet Aircraft Colors 1941–1945 set.
RC978 AMT-12 Dark Grey was one of the standard upper surface camouflage colours for Soviet mixed-construction military aircraft from the summer of 1943, appearing in two schemes: the AMT-11/AMT-12/AMT-7 scheme for fighter aircraft, and the AMT-1/AMT-4/AMT-12/AMT-7 scheme for non-fighter aircraft. It is therefore correct for VVS mixed-construction fighter upper surface colour summer 1943–~1947–48 on the La-5FN, La-7, Yak-3, and Yak-9 as the darker of the two upper surface tones; and for VVS mixed-construction non-fighter upper surface colour summer 1943–end of WWII on the Il-2 (late), Pe-2, Tu-2, and associated bomber and attack types.
- VVS fighter upper surface colour summer 1943–~1947–48: La-5FN, La-7, Yak-3, Yak-9 — darker tone in AMT-11/AMT-12/AMT-7 scheme; pairs with RC977 AMT-11 Blue Grey
- VVS non-fighter upper surface colour summer 1943–end of WWII: Il-2 (late), Pe-2, Tu-2 — in AMT-1/AMT-4/AMT-12/AMT-7 scheme
- Lower surfaces with RC976 AMT-7 Light Blue
- Lacquer-based, airbrush-optimized — smooth, opaque coverage
