A light, vivid sky-blue tone — RAF Azure Blue, the lower surface colour for RAF aircraft in the Desert Scheme deployed to North Africa and the Mediterranean, and for some aircraft operating under the South-East Asia Command in the early phase of that theatre. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC965 is included in AK's WWII RAF Aircraft Colors set, WWII RAF Aircraft Desert Colors set, and WWII RAF SEAC Aircraft Colors set.

RC965 RAF Azure Blue was introduced as the lower surface colour in the RAF Desert Scheme from late 1941. For fighters, it remained in use until September 1944 when superseded; for bombers, it continued until the end of the war. It was also applied to lower surfaces of some RAF SEAC aircraft until April 1944, when it was replaced by Medium Sea Grey (RC963) in that role. It is therefore correct for RAF Desert Scheme lower surface colour late 1941–September 1944 (fighters) / end of WWII (bombers) on the Hurricane, Tomahawk, Kittyhawk, Spitfire Mk.V/VIII/IX, Beaufighter, Baltimore, Mitchell, Marauder, and associated Middle East and Mediterranean theatre types; and RAF SEAC lower surface colour on types based in Burma, India, and the Far East prior to April 1944.
