Description
AKIRC960 - AK Interactive Real Colors RAF Dark Green 17 ml.
A dark, slightly warm olive-toned green — RAF Dark Green, one of the most widely applied and longest-serving upper surface camouflage colours in British and Commonwealth aviation history, spanning WWII fighters and bombers through Cold War V-bombers and tactical aircraft into the 1990s. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC960 is included in AK's WWII RAF Aircraft Colors set and Cold War & Modern RAF Aircraft Colors set.
RC960 RAF Dark Green was one of the standard upper surface colours applied to RAF fighters and bombers from 1938 until 1947, and the standard upper surface disruptive colour for RAF night fighters from autumn 1942 until the 1960s. It continued as one of the upper surface colours for RAF fighter and tactical aircraft from 1953 until the mid-1990s, and for RAF V-bombers from the 1960s until the 1980s. Beyond RAF use, it is also the correct colour for USMC AV-8A Harrier upper surfaces in the 1970s, and for Syrian MiG-17F and MiG-21 upper surfaces from the late 1960s (post-Six Day War) until the early 1970s.
