A vivid, semi-transparent blue-green tone — IJN/IJA Aotake (青竹色, "blue bamboo colour"), the standard corrosion-preventative lacquer coating applied to internal metal surfaces of Japanese Navy and Army aircraft throughout the Second World War. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC958 is included in AK's WWII IJN Aircraft Colors set and WWII IJN Aircraft Interior Colors set, and is one of the most visually distinctive colours in Japanese WWII aviation modelling.

RC958 IJN/IJA Aotake was the standard anti-corrosion coating applied to bare metal internal surfaces across both Imperial Japanese Navy and Imperial Japanese Army aircraft throughout WWII. It was applied to wheel wells, landing gear bays, internal structural framing, fuel tank interiors, control surface frameworks, and other exposed metal cavities on virtually all Japanese aircraft of the period. It is therefore correct for internal metal surfaces and anti-corrosion areas on all IJN and IJA aircraft throughout WWII, including the A6M Zero, J2M Raiden, N1K-J Shiden, Ki-43 Hayabusa, Ki-84 Hayate, G4M, B6N Tenzan, and the full range of Japanese combat aircraft.
