A dark, slightly warmer green-black tone — IJN D2 Green Black, the alternative upper surface camouflage colour for Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft introduced in 1943 alongside D1 Deep Green Black, representing the slightly lighter of the two dark green tones seen on late-war IJN aircraft. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC955 is included in AK's WWII IJN Aircraft Colors set with colours researched for accuracy by the author of the "Aviation of Japan" blog.

RC955 IJN D2 Green Black was introduced in 1943 as an alternative upper surface camouflage colour for IJN aircraft, used on the same types and in the same period as D1 but representing a distinct and separately documented shade. Both D1 and D2 appear on late-war IJN aircraft upper surfaces, with D2 tending toward a marginally greener character. It is therefore correct for IJN alternative upper surface camouflage colour from 1943 through 1945 on the A6M Zero (late production), J1N Gekko, J2M Raiden, N1K-J Shiden, D4Y Suisei, B6N Tenzan, and the full range of IJN aircraft of the period where D2 rather than D1 was applied.
