A medium, neutral grey-green tone — IJN J3 Hai-Iro, the standard overall colour for Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft from 1937 to 1940, and a close match to FS 36307 making it applicable to modern schemes including the Hellenic Air Force Ghost scheme and the USN Heather-Ferris scheme. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC952 opens the IJN section of the range with colours researched for accuracy by the author of the "Aviation of Japan" blog.

RC952 IJN J3 Hai-Iro (Grey) was the standard overall colour for IJN aircraft in service from 1937 until 1940, and continued to be applied to fabric surfaces on IJN aircraft until 1945. As a fair match to FS 36307, it is also appropriate for two modern schemes: the Hellenic Air Force Ghost camouflage scheme introduced in the late 1980s (F-16C/D, F-4E, F-5A/B); and the USN Heather-Ferris scheme evaluated in 1983–84. Its primary use is therefore as the IJN standard overall colour 1937–1940 on the A5M, A6M Zero (early production), B5N, D3A, G3M, G4M, and other IJN types of the period; and for fabric surfaces on IJN aircraft through 1945.
