A very light, slightly cooler grey-green tone — RLM 76 based on measurements of original surviving aircraft components, representing the actual colour as found on preserved Luftwaffe airframes rather than the regulatory colour chart standard. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC944 is included in AK's WWII Luftwaffe Mid-War Colors set and covers the same fighter, heavy fighter, and night fighter lower and upper surface applications as RC943, offering modellers the choice between the official chart standard and the measurement-derived variant.

RC944 RLM 76 Version 2 represents the colour tone derived from spectrophotometric measurements of original Luftwaffe aircraft parts, which typically shows a subtly different shade from the 1941 colour chart version (RC943). It was applied to lower and upper surfaces of fighters, heavy fighters, and night fighters from 1941 until the end of the war. It is therefore correct for Luftwaffe fighter, heavy fighter, and night fighter lower and mottled upper surfaces 1941–1945 including the Bf 109F/G/K, Fw 190A/D/F, Bf 110G, He 219, Ju 88G, Do 217, and Me 410 in the standard RLM 74/75/76 scheme — particularly appropriate for subjects where a measurement-based interpretation is preferred over the regulatory chart standard.
