A dark, slightly warm dark green tone — RLM 71 Dunkelgrün, the lighter of the two-tone upper surface camouflage colours used on Luftwaffe fighters and bombers from 1937, and the companion to RLM 70 Schwarzgrün in the defining early and mid-war Luftwaffe upper surface scheme. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC940 is included in AK's WWII Luftwaffe Early War Colors set and WWII Luftwaffe Mid-War Colors set.

RC940 RLM 71 was the standard upper surface camouflage colour for Luftwaffe fighters from 1937 until approximately mid-1941, for Bf 110 heavy fighters from 1938 until approximately mid-1941, and for bomber, ground-attack, reconnaissance, and transport aircraft from approximately 1938 until late 1944. It is therefore correct for Luftwaffe fighter upper surface colour 1937–~mid-1941 on the Bf 109B/C/D/E/F, He 51, and contemporaries in the RLM 70/71 upper scheme; Bf 110 heavy fighter upper surface colour 1938–~mid-1941 in the RLM 70/71 upper scheme; and Luftwaffe bomber, attack, recon, and transport upper surface colour ~1938–late 1944 in the RLM 70/71 upper scheme on the He 111, Do 17/217, Ju 88, Ju 87, Fw 200, Ju 52, He 177, and associated multi-engine types.
