A very dark, almost navy blue-green tone — the Sea Blue upper surface colour in the US Navy and USMC tri-colour carrier aircraft camouflage scheme introduced in January 1943. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC924 is included in AK's WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Colors set and WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Late War Colors set, and pairs with RC908 Intermediate Blue and RC891 Insignia White to complete the tri-colour scheme.

RC924 Sea Blue is the uppermost surface tone in the three-colour scheme introduced for USN and USMC carrier-based aircraft in January 1943, replacing the earlier Blue Grey/Light Grey two-tone scheme. The tri-colour scheme — Sea Blue upper surfaces, Intermediate Blue intermediate surfaces, and Insignia White lower surfaces — was used until mid-March 1944 for carrier-based fighters, when it was superseded by the Dark Sea Blue overall scheme. Other carrier-based aircraft types retained the tri-colour scheme until effectively October 1944. It is therefore correct for USN and USMC tri-colour carrier scheme January 1943–late 1944 including the F4F-4/FM-2 Wildcat, F4U-1/1A/1D Corsair, F6F-3/5 Hellcat, SBD-4/5 Dauntless, TBF-1C/TBM-1C Avenger, SB2C-1C/3 Helldiver, and F7F-1 Tigercat.
