A medium, neutral blue-grey tone corresponding to Federal Standard 35237 — a colour with continuous application in US Navy and USMC aviation from the early 1980s to the present day, appearing in Tactical Paint Schemes, USMC helicopter camouflage schemes, and the experimental Heather-Ferris evaluation of 1983–84. RC909 Medium Blue Grey FS 35237 is one of the colours used in the Tactical Paint Schemes applied to US Navy combat aircraft and helicopters from the 1980s until today, and one of the colours in the USMC helicopter wraparound scheme used from 1985 until 1993. From 1993 onwards it became the upper surface colour in USMC helicopter Tactical Paint Schemes, a role it continues to hold. It is also the lower surface colour of the USMC AV-8B Harrier II fleet since 2014, and appeared in the Heather-Ferris experimental scheme evaluated in 1983–84.
