A medium, slightly greyish blue tone corresponding to Federal Standard 35164 — the middle tone in the US Navy and USMC tri-colour carrier aircraft camouflage scheme of 1943–44, and a colour that appears in two further distinct contexts in US naval aviation history. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC908 is included in AK's WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Late War Colors set and covers subjects from Pacific carrier operations through to 1980s experimental naval camouflage.

RC908 Intermediate Blue FS 35164 is one of the three colours in the tri-colour camouflage scheme introduced for USN and USMC carrier-based aircraft in January 1943, where it appeared on the intermediate surfaces between Sea Blue upper surfaces and Insignia White lower surfaces. This scheme was used until March 1944 for fighters and effectively October 1944 for other aircraft types. RC908 also appears in the experimental Heather-Ferris scheme evaluated by the US Navy in 1983–84, and is a fair match to the 5-0 Ocean Grey factory finish applied to USMC LVT-2 and LVT(A)-1 amphibious vehicles in the Pacific theatre. It is therefore correct for USN and USMC tri-colour carrier aircraft January 1943–late 1944 including the F4F-4 Wildcat, F4U-1 Corsair, F6F-3 Hellcat, SBD-4/5 Dauntless, TBF-1 Avenger, and SB2C-1 Helldiver; US Navy Heather-Ferris experimental scheme 1983–84; and USMC Pacific amphibious vehicles WWII — 5-0 Ocean Grey factory finish on the LVT-2 Water Buffalo and LVT(A)-1.
