Description
AKIRC896 - AK Interactive Real Colors Sand FS 30277 17 ml.
A warm, medium sand corresponding to Sand (FS 30277) — a key colour in both the MERDC multi-tone camouflage system used on US Army vehicles throughout the Cold War era and the temporary desert sand scheme applied to US Army helicopters during the 1990–91 Gulf War. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC896 is also included in AK's US Army Helicopter Colors Set and covers a broad range of US Army AFV and aviation subjects.
RC896 Sand FS 30277 is one of the colours used for painting US Army vehicles in all MERDC camouflage schemes except for the Tropics Verdant variant. It is also a good match to FS 33303 Sand used in the four-colour camouflage scheme currently applied to vehicles of the Republic of Korea Army and K9A1 SPHs of the Polish Army. It is also a fair match to one of the colours available for painting disruptive camouflage on US Army vehicles during World War II. Sand FS 30277 was temporarily applied to US Army helicopters during the Gulf War of 1990–91, including the AH-1 Cobra, AH-64 Apache, OH-6 Kiowa, UH-1 Huey, and UH-60 Blackhawk. RC896 is therefore correct for WWII US Army vehicle disruptive camouflage; MERDC-scheme US Army AFVs across nearly all terrain variants 1974–1984 — the Winter Verdant, Summer Verdant, Snow Temperate Open Terrain, Snow Temperate with Trees, Grey Desert, Red Desert, and Transitional schemes — covering M60, M48, M113, M577, M109, M35, M151, and all associated Cold War US Army tactical vehicles; 1990–91 Gulf War US Army helicopter desert sand subjects; and modern Republic of Korea Army and Polish Army K9A1 SPH subjects.
