Description
AKIRC886 - AK Interactive Real Colors NATO Green 17 ml.
A dark, muted olive green corresponding to CARC Green 383 (FS 34094) — the base colour of the NATO standardised three-colour camouflage scheme adopted by the United States, Germany, France, and other NATO allies from 1984, and the overall colour of the Stryker family of vehicles. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC886 is the most important colour for Cold War-era and modern US Army and NATO AFV modelling in temperate environments.
In 1984 a standardised camouflage scheme was developed for NATO countries, intended to provide a single three-colour pattern suitable for a temperate woodland environment such as Central Europe. For US vehicles, the NATO scheme consisted of a base of CARC Green 383 FS 34094 — a lighter and greener colour compared to the earlier Forest Green FS 34079 — with disruptive patterns of CARC Brown 383 FS 30051 and CARC Black FS 37030. The NATO three-colour scheme remains to this day the standard camouflage pattern for all US AFVs operating in non-desert environments. CARC Green FS 34094 is also the overall colour of the Stryker IFV family. It is the correct base colour for all US Army and NATO temperate-environment AFV subjects from 1984 onward, covering the M1 Abrams (all variants in NATO scheme), M2/M3 Bradley, M60A3, M113, M88 ARV, M109A2/A6 Paladin, M270 MLRS, Stryker (overall), HMMWV, and all associated US Army wheeled and soft-skin transport deployed in Central Europe during the Cold War and in the post-Cold War Balkans deployments. It was also used by Germany and France with closely matched RAL equivalents, and by other NATO members in their national palette approximations.
