Description
AKIRC880 - AK Interactive Real Colors IDF Early Sand Yellow 17 ml.
A warm sandy yellow corresponding to the standard overall vehicle colour of the Israeli Defence Forces from the founding of the state through to the Yom Kippur War of 1973 — the colour synonymous with the iconic IDF armour of the Six Day War and the battles of Sinai. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC880 is the essential colour for all early and mid-period IDF armour subjects.
IDF Early Sand Yellow was the standard colour of IDF vehicles and military equipment during the 1950s and 1960s, including the Six Day War, and was widely used until the Yom Kippur War in 1973 on tanks such as the AMX-13, Shermans, early M48 Pattons, and the majority of the Centurion (Sho't). After the 1973 war, it remained in use in the south and the Sinai Peninsula. After the Yom Kippur War, more IDF land forces were positioned in the northern frontiers and their vehicles received a darker tone, Sand Grey, which was more suitable for blending with the greyish terrain of the north of Israel. IDF Modern Grey was introduced in May 1981. RC880 is the correct overall colour for all IDF AFV subjects from 1948 through the 1973 Yom Kippur War, including the Sherman (M4A1, M-50 Super Sherman, M-51 Isherman), AMX-13, Centurion Sho't (Mk 3, Mk 5, Sho't Kal Alef/Bet), M48A2/A3 Patton, M113, Jeep, Half-track M3, and all associated IDF wheeled and support vehicles of the 1948 War of Independence, 1956 Suez Crisis, 1967 Six Day War, 1967–70 War of Attrition, and 1973 Yom Kippur War.
