Description
AKIRC873 - AK Interactive Real Colors S.C.C. No.1A Very Dark Brown 17 ml.
A very dark warm brown corresponding to SCC No.1A (Special Camouflage Colour 1A) — one of the standard BS.987C disruptive camouflage colours of British and Commonwealth vehicles from 1941 through to the end of the Second World War, used across the UK, European, North African, and Mediterranean theatres. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC873 appears as a disruptive tone across nearly the full breadth of British WWII modelling subjects.
SCC 1A was introduced from 1941 as the disruptive dark tone applied over the SCC 2 Khaki Brown or Khaki Green No.3 base coats in Europe, in a two-colour scheme that replaced the earlier two-greens pattern due to a severe shortage of the chemicals needed to produce strong greens. From October 1942, SCC 1A Very Dark Brown was also specified as an alternative disruptive colour for the Desert Pink base scheme in the Middle East, used on Shermans, Grants, Valentines, Crusaders, and Stuarts alongside Dark Olive Green PFI and Black as options. In the final phase of the war in North West Europe, SCC 1A was used as a disruptive tone over SCC 15 Olive Drab for the D-Day and NW Europe campaign schemes. It covers a vast range of subjects including all British and Commonwealth AFVs and softskins from 1941 onward — Churchill, Valentine, Matilda II, Crusader, M4 Sherman, Cromwell, Comet, and all associated wheeled transport — across the UK Home Forces, Middle East, North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and NW Europe.
