Description
AKIRC867 - AK Interactive Real Colors Slate No.34 (BS381) 17 ml.
A very dark olive-grey corresponding to BSC No.34 Slate — the darkest of the three disruptive colours of the Caunter camouflage scheme applied to British and Commonwealth AFVs in the Middle East and North Africa from July 1940 until October 1941. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC867 provides the deepest tone in the Caunter three-colour angular hard-edge pattern, creating the strong tonal contrast against the lighter Portland Stone or Light Stone base that defines this distinctive scheme.
The Caunter Scheme was composed of BSC No.28 Silver Grey, BSC No.34 Slate, and either BSC No.61 Light Stone or BSC No.64 Portland Stone, and was applied to vehicles of the British Army in North Africa and the Middle East from July 1940 until late 1941. Slate served as the darkest disruptive tone of the scheme, applied in bold angular geometric shapes over the stone base coat. Tanks which received the Caunter pattern included the Vickers Light Tanks Mk.III, IV, and VI, A.9, A.10, and A.13 Cruisers, Matilda II, Crusader, M3 Stuart, and Valentine, as well as armoured cars including the Rolls-Royce M1924, Morris CS9, Marmon-Herrington, India Pattern Carrier, and Guy Wheeled Tank. The Caunter pattern was formally cancelled in December 1941, though vehicles already in the scheme remained in use into 1942. RC867 Slate pairs with RC866 Silver Grey and RC868 Light Stone or RC869 Portland Stone to complete the full Caunter colour set.
