A darker, greyer tan corresponding to RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb Ausgabe 1944 — the final revision of Dunkelgelb introduced in October 1944, noticeably darker and with a subtle greenish shift compared to the earlier 1943 shade (RC859). Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC860 is the correct Dunkelgelb shade for German late-war and very late-war subjects from autumn 1944 through to the end of the conflict.

In October 1944 a new shade, Dunkelgelb RAL 7028 Ausgabe 1944, was introduced. The new shade was darker and slightly greenish. The change was necessary because the earlier RAL 7028 shade had not proven itself in Central Europe. According to the colour cards, this new RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb Ausgabe 1944 was a slightly darker and greyer tan than the 1943 version. It can only be assumed that it became the predominant colour later in the year once stocks of the older version had run out. It is the correct Dunkelgelb shade for all German AFV subjects of the final war period including the Tiger II (late production), Jagdtiger, Jagdpanther late, Panzer IV J late, Panther Ausf. G late, King Tiger, Hetzer late, and Sd.Kfz. 251 produced from late 1944 onward. From 2 January 1945, RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb Ausgabe 1944 was used as a disruptive colour alongside RAL 6003 Olivgrün base and RAL 8017 Rotbraun in the final sharp-contour factory camouflage scheme.
