Description
AKIRC859 - AK Interactive Real Colors Dunkelgelb-Dark Yellow RAL 7028 17 ml.
A darker, more taupe-toned dark yellow corresponding to RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb — the formally registered version of Dunkelgelb that replaced the initial Nach Muster shade and became the standard German vehicle base coat from mid-1943 through to October 1944. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Military range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC859 is the most broadly applicable Dunkelgelb shade for German mid-to-late war modelling and represents a distinctly different, earthier tone than the brighter RC858 Nach Muster.
RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb was less yellow than the Dunkelgelb nach Muster and tended more toward taupe. Because of delays in production of RAL 7028, Dunkelgelb nach Muster continued to be used until the fall of 1943, after which RAL 7028 became the standard vehicle base coat until October 1944. RAL 7028 was officially introduced on 7 April 1943, pairing with RAL 8017 Rotbraun and RAL 6003 Olivgrün as the disruptive camouflage colours. It is the correct factory base coat for all German AFV subjects from mid-1943 through to late 1944, covering Panzer IV Ausf. H and J, Panther Ausf. A and G, Tiger I mid-to-late production, Tiger II, StuG III Ausf. G late, Jagdpanther, Jagdpanzer IV, Nashorn, Hummel, Sd.Kfz. 251, Sd.Kfz. 250, and all associated wheeled transport and artillery of the period. RAL 7028 was also used for camouflage painting of equipment and ammunition including canisters, ammunition boxes, weapons, flasks, and field cookware.
