A dark grey-green corresponding to RAL 7009 — one of the two standard German AFV interior colours used throughout the Second World War, applied to the fighting compartments and crew areas of German armoured vehicles alongside Elfenbein RAL 1001. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Civil range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC854 is labelled as an interior colour and is essential for accurate German AFV interior modelling.

Throughout most of the war, the most common interior colour was Elfenbein RAL 1001 (ivory) and Graugrün, with Graugrün being more resistant to oil and dirt than the lighter ivory. RAL 7009 appears on the interior walls, ceilings, floors, and equipment mountings of virtually all major German AFV types including the Panzer III, Panzer IV, Tiger I, Tiger II, Panther, StuG III, Jagdpanther, Jagdpanzer IV, Sd.Kfz. 251, and Sd.Kfz. 250. The exact proportion of RAL 7009 versus RAL 1001 varied by manufacturer and time period, with some manufacturers preferring one or the other and field repaints introducing further variation. While the colours were standardised, there were slight variations from manufacturer to manufacturer, and different application methods — especially when paint was applied in the field — could also affect the result.
