A clean, vivid light blue — a versatile Civil colour covering a wide range of automotive, motorcycle, and diorama subjects where a bright mid-to-light blue is required. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Civil range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC842 is the direct equivalent of Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue and provides excellent coverage for both bodywork and detail applications.

Light Blue is a broadly applicable colour across multiple modelling genres. In automotive subjects it is suited to light blue bodywork on European and Japanese road cars, interior trim details, and dealer promotional model subjects. In motorcycle modelling it covers light blue fairings and bodywork panels on various Japanese and European production bikes. For diorama and figure work it is used for painted surfaces, signage, building details, and civilian vehicle bodywork. It also serves as a useful mixing and toning colour — particularly for lightening darker blues, mixing sky tones, and creating faded or sun-bleached blue effects through custom blending. As a lacquer formula it lays down smoothly over large surfaces without streaking, making it well-suited to bodywork painting where an even, gloss-ready base coat is required before clear coating.
