Description
AKIRC841 - AK Interactive Real Colors French F1 Yellow 1970s-1980s 17 ml.
A vivid, bright yellow formulated to replicate the distinctive Renault Elf livery yellow used on the works Renault Formula 1 cars during their revolutionary turbocharged era — one of the most important and recognisable colour schemes in the history of Grand Prix racing. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Civil range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC841 is the definitive yellow for the complete Renault F1 programme from its 1977 debut through to the mid-1980s.
The Renault yellow appeared first on the Renault RS01 — the car that introduced turbocharging to Formula 1 at the 1977 British Grand Prix, driven by Jean-Pierre Jabouille and quickly nicknamed "the yellow teapot" by rival teams for its propensity to retire in a cloud of smoke. The same yellow then carried through to the championship-contending Renault RS10 (1979, Jabouille and Arnoux — scored the first ever turbo F1 win at Dijon), the Renault RE20 (1980–81, Jabouille, Arnoux, and a young Alain Prost), the Renault RE30, RE30B, and RE30C (1981–83, Prost and Arnoux — seven wins and sixteen pole positions ), and the Renault RE40 (1983, Prost — four wins, narrowly missed the championship). It also covers the Renault RE50 and RE60 of the later works programme.
