Description
AKIRC832 - AK Interactive Real Colors Alfa BT Red 17 ml.
A precisely formulated red replicating the distinctive Martini-era red used on the Brabham-Alfa Romeo F1 cars of the late 1970s — a deeper, more saturated tone than standard Rosso Corsa and one of the most specifically documented reds in F1 modelling. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Civil range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC832 Alfa BT Red is named directly for the Brabham BT chassis series that carried this colour.
This is the correct red for the iconic Brabham Martini Racing F1 cars powered by the Alfa Romeo flat-12 and V12 engines — specifically the Brabham BT45B, BT46, BT46B (the legendary "Fan Car"), and BT48 as raced between 1976 and 1979. Marketing strategies dictated a change from the original white Martini livery to red and blue colours , producing the striking scheme carried by Niki Lauda, John Watson, and Carlos Pace. Lauda won the 1978 Italian Grand Prix in the BT46, and the BT46B fan car achieved its sole victory at the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix before immediate withdrawal. Beyond the BT-series cars, this red is also closely associated with the Alfa Romeo F1 cars of the early 1980s including the Alfa Romeo 177, 179, 182, and 183T driven by Bruno Giacomelli and Andrea de Cesaris.
