A transparent, dark grey-neutral lacquer that mimics the appearance of smoked or tinted glass — one of the most useful clear colours in scale modelling for adding depth, tinting, and aged effects to transparent surfaces. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Standard range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC826 Clear Smoke carries over from the original RC508 in the previous 10ml glass bottle range.

Clear Smoke is used wherever a transparent darkening tint is needed to replicate the optical properties of smoked glass, tinted canopies, or aged lenses. Its primary uses include tinted aircraft canopies and windscreens on subjects including the Bf 109G, Fw 190D, Me 262, P-51D Mustang, and Hawker Typhoon, where a subtle smoke tint over a gloss clear coat replicates the appearance of real tinted plexiglass at scale. Applied over other clear colours, it deepens and ages lens effects on tail lights, headlights, and instrument lenses on AFVs and civilian vehicles. It also creates convincing exhaust staining and heat discolouration effects when airbrushed in thin layers over exhaust stacks, engine vents, and gun muzzles. Thin coats allow full control of opacity and tint depth.
