A transparent, candy-yellow lacquer designed to be applied over metallic or light base coats to create vivid, luminous tinted effects. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Standard range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC825 Clear Yellow carries over from the original RC507 in the previous 10ml glass bottle range.

Clear Yellow is used wherever a translucent yellow is needed to replicate the optical properties of coloured glass, lenses, or tinted metallic surfaces. Its primary uses include yellow tinted visors, goggles, and canopy tints on WWII and modern aircraft subjects including the Bf 109, Fw 190, P-40 Warhawk, and Hawker Hurricane, which used amber or yellow-tinted pilot goggles and windscreen panels. Applied over silver or aluminium, it creates the correct warm glow of yellow hazard and beacon lights on construction and emergency vehicles. It is also used for zinc chromate primer effects when applied as a transparent tint over a lighter base, replicating the distinctive yellow-green primer visible in open wheel wells and inspection panels on WWII US aircraft including the P-47 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang, and F6F Hellcat. Thin coats allow full control of colour depth and saturation.
