A deep, rich teal-blue referenced to RAL 5001 Green Blue — a dark, sophisticated blue with a subtle green undertone that sits distinctly between a pure navy and a teal. Part of the AK Interactive Real Colors Standard range in the new 17ml plastic dropper bottle, RC817 carries over directly from the original RC011 Blue RAL 5001 in the previous 10ml glass bottle range.

RAL 5001 has documented uses across both railway and industrial modelling subjects. It is the correct window band colour for the Deutsche Bundesbahn Class 420/421 S-Bahn EMUs as originally deployed in Munich in the early 1970s before the colour was replaced by orange RAL 2004. Beyond railway subjects, its deep teal-blue tone appears on industrial machinery, chemical plant equipment, and marine equipment where a strong, durable blue-green is specified. It is also widely used as a rich accent and detail colour in dioramas — for barrels, containers, pipework, and military support equipment — and as a base for mixing deep sea and harbour water effects.
