A warm, saturated golden yellow referenced to RAL 1006 Maize Yellow — a distinctly deeper and more orange-tinted yellow than RAL 1003 Signal Yellow, and an important colour in WWII German tactical markings. RAL 1006 (Gelb Nr. 3 / Gelb Nr. 12) was widely used by the Wehrmacht for painting tactical markings during WWII, and some sources indicate it was used to repaint white German crosses during the Polish campaign. It appears as divisional and unit identification markings on the Panzer I, Panzer II, Panzer 38(t), Panzer III, and Sd.Kfz. 222 during the early war period. Beyond tactical markings, RAL 1006 is the standard colour for Caterpillar construction equipment including bulldozers, excavators, and loaders — making it an essential colour for diorama and civilian vehicle modelling.
